Vera C. Teschow is a Certified Teacher with experience in a variety of contexts.
She began her career in a large school board in Ontario for over a decade, first as a classroom teacher, then a program resource consultant, and finally as acting vice principal before returning to the classroom for a few years. She has also participated on Board and Ministry research and writing teams, taught pre-service teacher education classes at the university level, developed and instructed courses with the Peel Summer Academy (PSA), Soul Drums and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) Summer Club for Kids, and was the director of Discover Toronto: A Multiple Intelligences Approach to the City, a summer program for Gifted learners.
Vera holds a B.Ed., and an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto, as well as a Masters Degree in Education from OISE in Toronto. In addition, she is certified in Music, Primary Instruction, Special Education and ESL, and in 2013 completed her Private Pilot License (PPL) with Transport Canada Aviation.

grumpyprofessor.weebly.comFor several years, Vera served extensively with Tyndale University’s Dept of Education, co-developing and teaching courses in Classroom Management, Differentiated Instruction, the Arts, and ESL/EAL for pre-service teacher candidates in the primary-junior and junior-intermediate divisions. In Sept 2011, she returned full time to the classroom with the Peel District School Board, while maintaining a busy workshop schedule provincially through the Elementary Teacher Federation of Ontario (ETFO), developing and facilitating professional learning workshops on a wide variety of topics.
In September 2016, Vera began yet another adventure, joining the Student Achievement Division at the Ministry of Education as an Education Officer with the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Branch there. After 5 years as a public servant, Vera decided to fulfill her dream of moving to Canada's smallest province. She did so in 2022, initially working as a curriculum and instructional consultant at the post-secondary level there. As of Summer 2023, Vera is officially semi-retired. She now free-lances as a consultant and learning facilitator and sometimes visits elementary school classrooms as a volunteer and/or a certified substitute teacher with the Public Schools Branch. She leads the occasional walking tour for cruise ship visitors to Charlottetown is also a licensed wedding commissioner on the island. In her spare time, Vera enjoys making music, creating content, engaging in volunteer work of various sorts, and embarking on geocaching and other adventures with her wife and 20-year-old twin boys. Vera divides her time mainly between Guayabitos, Mexico and PEI, Canada. SUMMARY OF SKILLS:
