Meet Loki

The Adventures of Loki the Little Dog... and her Big Friend, Sneakers! Release Date: Spring/Summer 2026
​

Written by Vera C Teschow, this series follows the adventures of Loki, a little dog born on the streets of Las Varas, in Nayarit, Mexico. Loki is rescued by a number of caring humans, including two women who eventually take her home with them to Canada.

Inspired by true events, Loki's story will appeal to readers old and young. This series is presented in English and Spanish, in two formats:

Beautifully illustrated by Diane Kanzler, these simple, dual-language chapter books are formatted in large, easy-to-read font (16 pt), to provide an accessible format for early readers or those developing dual language literacy. Each 5-chapter book tells a more detailed story about Loki in both English and Spanish.

Each 32-page hardcover book highlights an excerpt of Loki’s adventures in English and Spanish. Illustrated by Mexican muralist Rene Castillo (TBC), the books provide a visual feast to accompany a heartwarming story of little Loki and her older, bigger friend, Sneakers the Wonderdog. 

Anticipated Release Date: Summer/Fall 2026
Included in each volume are discussion questions and ideas for further research in both languages, to add value for classroom use, home-schooling, reading groups and book clubs.
