Although I have often ridden the TTC over the course of my four decades living in Toronto, I have rarely witnessed such a spectacle as this one: Clambering onto the crowded shuttle bus that was temporarily replacing a stretch of 501 streetcar, we heard the strains of a harmonica eminating from the back. A voice called out encouragingly from the rear, "There's lots of seats back here, folks -- c'mon back, we've got music, plenty of space..." So my girlfriend and I pushed our way through the crowd, and indeed found two seats, right next to possibly the most humongous dog I have ever seen!
The dog, apparently, was a Newfie-Lab cross. He was soon visited by another canine on the bus, a tiny lap dog who was somewhat less than enthusiastic to make the aquaintance, despite her eager owner's insistence on taking several photos. I, too, whipped out my camera to capture the curious combo.
I tried to snap a shot of our harmonica player as well, however, the newfie-lab soon started barking along to the music, prompting the would-be bus busker to pack his instrument safely away before I could capture him on film, and spend the rest of the ride shooting glowering looks in our direction.
